Butler Volleyball Gets Home Sweep of Seward
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball got a crucial Jayhawk Conference win at the Power Plant on Saturday afternoon, winning 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-21) over the Seward County Saints.
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball got a crucial Jayhawk Conference win at the Power Plant on Saturday afternoon, winning 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-21) over the Seward County Saints.
Butler (13-14, 5-6 KJCCC) got revenge on the Saints (7-13, 3-7) as the Grizzlies were swept by Seward in Liberal earlier this season.
Set one saw Butler use a 7-1 run with the score tied 13-13 to go ahead 20-14. The Grizzlies closed out the set with four straight points and won it 25-16.
Seward claimed an 11-8 lead midway through set two. The lead changed hands after that but the Grizzlies led 19-14 before Seward made it 19-17 off a mini 3-0 run. Butler closed things out in set two with a 3-0 run of their own, winning it 25-20.
Butler narrowly led throughout set three and took it 25-22 to complete the sweep. It was the third conference sweep the Grizzlies have had this season.
The Grizzlies return to action this Wednesday vs. Dodge City at the Power Plant. First serve is at 6 p.m.
