Michaela Serrioz joins athletic Staff as new Athletic Secretary

Michaela Serrioz joins the Butler team as the new Athletic Secretary for the Grizzlies becoming just the third person to hold this position over the last 30 years.

"I am really excited to be joining the Butler team," commented Serrioz, "I already feel at home and I can't wait to get to work helping the students, staff and coaches at Butler."

Serrioz replaces Lori Llewellen, who worked in the position for the last 14 years prior to retirement on April 30th.

Serrioz comes to Butler after working at Highland Community College as a volleyball coach as well as the Athletic Directors Assistant.

"I really love this level (junior college) of athletics," said Serrioz. "I was a juco product myself and had two of the best years of my life at this level and within this conference. I know first-hand the opportunities we can provide to student athletes for success beyond Butler, and I look forward to working with them to help them achieve that."

Serrioz brings a wide variety of knowledge of the Jayhawk conference after playing volleyball two years at Highland Community College while also having worked as an administrator for a couple years in the Jayhawk conference.

Serrioz will work with the day-to-day operations of the Butler Athletic Department along with assisting students, staff and coaches. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ottawa University where she also finished out her playing career in volleyball helping the Braves to back-to-back national tournament appearances.

Michaela is currently pursuing her master's degree in Sports Administration from Pittsburg State University. She is a native of Gardner, KS and attended high school at Gardner Edgerton.
