Butler Athletic Department Welcomes Sydney Mossman as Associate Athletic Director of Sports Information

Former Grizzly Volleyball player Sydney Mossman is back in Butler athletics, now as Associate Athletic Director of Sports Information (SID)

"I am very excited to be back at Butler," said Mossman, "this place means a lot to me. I spent two of the best years of my life at Butler as an athlete and made lifelong friendships and connections. I look forward to doing the same in an employee position.".

Mossman is the permanent replacement to former associate athletic director Tyler Nordman who has transitioned to a new media-based role for the college and fills the interim SID role that was being held by Wyatt Ebersole who returns to his former role as assistant sports information director.

In her new role, Sydney will oversee the development of internal media produced from the athletic department, including the athletic department's social media content. This will ensure that the community is updated on Butler sports programs. Additionally, she will provide support to student-athletes and coaching staff while showcasing their talents.

Mossman comes to Butler after working for the Wichita Public School system as a volleyball coach at East High School in Wichita, KS for one season. She also already has experience working in junior college athletics as she was an intern for the KJCCC for several years while working toward her degrees.

"I really appreciate this level of athletics and the opportunities it can provide for student-athletes," commented Mossman, "Junior college athletics is special in ways that can only be understood when you're a part of it. I am happy to be a part of that again, while doing what I can to give our student-athletes that same special experience."

Mossman earned two bachelor's degrees, one in Sports Communications and the other in Organizational Leadership, from Newman University where she continued her volleyball playing career as the Jets entered the MIAA conference in 2019. Sydney was a member of the Butler Volleyball team in 2018, the year that the Lisa Lechtenberg era began.

She is a native of McPherson, KS and graduated from McPherson High School.
