CHARLOTTE, N.C. – 55 Butler student-athletes were recognized as 2022-23 NJCAA All-Academic team members when the full list of academic teams was unveiled on Monday afternoon. There were 10,257 total NJCAA student-athletes recognized for their academic efforts this year.
Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2022-23 academic year. The criteria for the three All-Academic teams are listed below:
- NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
- NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
- NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA

Butler baseball, women's basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball all received NJCAA All-Academic Team awards for posting a cummulative team gpa of 3.0-or-greater.
Among Butler sports team, the Butler soccer squad had the most players selected to NJCAA All-Academic teams with 13. Baseball was close behind with 10, while volleyball and softball had 8 selections each.
Butler volleyball had four student-athletes named to the All-Academic First Team, the most of any Grizzly sports program.
