EL DORADO, Kan. – Following a week in which they started conference play 2-0, the Butler Grizzlies men's basketball team has entered the top 10 of the NJCAA Men's Basketball Poll, being ranked ninth in the week three rendition released on Monday afternoon.
After starting the year ranked 13th in the preseason poll and then moving to No. 14 in week one and No. 11 in week two, the Grizzlies finally cracked the top 10 in the third week of the poll after a 7-1 start to the season.
The Grizzlies check in at No. 9 and are the second highest ranked KJCCC team behind Barton who is ranked sixth and is 9-0 this year. The Cougars travel to El Dorado on Saturday for a big conference game.
Other KJCCC teams ranked are Hutchinson (21st) and Cloud County (25th). The Grizzlies lost to the current 17th-ranked and then 20th-ranked Moberly Area Greyhounds on their home floor, 73-65 on Nov. 4th.
The No. 9 ranking for the men marks their first time being ranked inside the top 10 since the 2021-22 season when they were ranked ninth and seventh in the early parts of the season.
The Grizzlies return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 29th at 7:30 p.m. at Coffeyville.
