The Butler Indoor Track and Field teams had another strong showing at the Husker Invitational this weekend continuing to compete at an extremely high level. 

A number of season bests were set, and four more tickets were punched to the NJCAA Indoor National Meet.

"We did good," said head coach Dustin Mettler. "We are continuing to improve each week and that is all we can ask rom them."

Some of the meet highlights for the Grizzlies:

Xavier Atkins ran a 6.72 in the 60 meter dash and finished second and teammate Arlon Williams finished 8^th in the 60 meter with a 7.61.

Agerian Jackson's 600 meter race clocked in as the fastest (true run not converted) time this indoor season in the NJCAA at 1:18.51. he finished 2^nd at the meet behind Nebraska's Brentyn Wetovick who ran a 1:18.18.

The Men's 4x400 meter relay team improved their best time of the season running a 3:15.79 finishing 5^th in the meet.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team also ran their fastest time of the year with a 3:53.66, placing them inside the TOP 5 in the NJCAA this season.

Shanique Masters and Zadie St. Louis both improve on last week's 800 meter time running a 2:18.39 and 2:18.81, a personal best for Zadie.

The women's team now holds NJCAA top ten rankings in the 60 meter, 200 meter (2), 400 meter, 800 meter (2) 5000 meter, 4x400 meter relay and the Distance medley Relay.

The Men's team now holds NJCAA top ten rankings in the 60 meter (2), 200 meter, 400 meter, 600 meter, 5000 meter and the 4x400 meter relay.

The Grizzlies will prep this week to get ready for the Indoor Gorilla Classic hosted by Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS this weekend February 14-15.
