The first week of the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings came out Wednesday and both Butler track teams have been ranked in the top-10. The men check in at No. 6 in the first ranking of the season while the women check in at No. 10.
The Grizzlies are off to a hot start posting some top times in the NJCAA dominating the sprints early in the season.
Butler travels to Pittsburg State University this Saturday for the Wendy's Invitational looking to qualify a few more for nationals along with set some personal bests.
"I am excited for our teams to be recognized nationally," said head coach Greg Franklin, "but this is just the first week of rankings and a lot of season left to go. It is nice to be ranked but the message is to be in the top-10 at the end of the season."
