Bouldjadj earns NJCAA D1 National Athlete of the Week honor from USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Having already been named the KJCCC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, freshman cross country athlete Adem Bouldjadj picked up another honor as he was named the USTFCCCA's national athlete of the week for the NJCAA D1 level on Tuesday.

Bouldjadj (Jijel, Algeria) opened the cross country season with a bang, placing first at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic on Sept. 1, winning the race by 54 seconds with a time of 19:19.88 in the men's four mile run.

"Adem Bouldjadj left no doubt in his first race for Butler (Kan.) CC.

Bouldjadj bolted to the lead in the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic, clocking a time of 19:19.9 for the 4-mile course to win by a whopping 54.1 seconds. The Grizzlies finished fifth as a team (second-highest among JUCO squads) with 120 points.

Bouldjadj is the second male athlete from Butler to be named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week for cross country."

Butler cross country competes on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, MO. Racing gets underway at 3:30 p.m. CT.
