Talley voted KJCCC Div. I ‘Player of the Week’ in final poll of year

Taliya Talley was named the KJCCC Division I Softball 'Player of the Week' this week in what has now turned into the final player of the week poll of the season.

A week ago, when Taliya Talley took the field in Dodge City, she had no idea that would be her last time taking the field this season.

She unknowingly made the most of her final game of the season as she went 4 for 6 with eight RBI's and three runs scored in game two of the double header against Dodge City last week. She also hit two homeruns in her final game.

Taliya helped the Grizzlies to a season ending sweep at Dodge City winning 14-9 and 19-10 on the road last Wednesday, the final games the Grizzlies would play, ending their season 13-7 overall and 3-1 in KJCCC play.

In the double header, Talley finished 6 for 11 with 10 RBI's and five runs scored. She had one double and two homeruns. Talley led the Grizzlies in RBI's this season with 33 total in her 20 games played. She finished with a batting average of .389 this year with a .806 slugging percentage.

Talley joins Asia Henry and Olivia DePew who also picked up KJCCC honors earlier this season.
