KJCCC ‘Player of the Week’ Rewind- Softball

With no spring sports in action and no opportunities for Grizzlies to earn KJCCC 'Player of the Week' honors, we are going to look back at all of this year's honorees.

To wrap up our KJCCC 'Player of the Week' Rewind, we turn to the Butler Softball team where during the short spring season, three Grizzly softball players earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference 'Player of the Week' honors.

Week 2: Asia Henry

Asia Henry, sophomore catcher/third baseman, had a great weekend at the plate for the Grizzlies. Henry was six for fourteen with four runs scored in her four games played. She hit three homeruns on the weekend while chalking up a team high seven RBI's. She struck out once and didn't have any walks. Henry leads the KJCCC in homeruns this season with three, all coming this past weekend in Oklahoma and Texas.

 Week 4: Olivia DePew

Olivia DePew, sophomore pitcher from Deby, KS, pitched a no hitter on Friday against No. 11 ranked Indian Hills in the Grizzlies 9-1 run-rule win. She threw just 37 pitches in her four innings of work giving up no runs and no hits with one walk.

 Week 6: Taliya Talley

Taliya Talley, sophomore outfielder from Midwest City, Oklahoma, totaled 10 RBI's last week in a double header on the road at Dodge City. She went 6-of-11 with five runs scored, 10 RBI's, no walks with a double and two homeruns. In game two of the DH, Talley was 4-of-6 with three runs scored and eight RBI's. Talley leads the Grizzlies in RBI's this season with 33 total in her 20 games played. She is batting .389 this year with a .806 slugging %.
