Maddie Redman named National Pitcher of the Week

Maddie Redman, Grizzlies right-handed pitcher, was named the National Junior College Athletic Association 'Pitcher of the Week' after an outstanding performance in the circle last week for the No. 3-ranked Grizzlies.

Redman, sophomore pitcher from Stillwell, KS, remained perfect in the circle picking up three more wins on the year improving to 16-0 after last week's games. Redman pitched 11.1 total innings allowing no earned runs on the week. She gave up just two hits, walked one and struck out 17 batters on the week. Redman is third in the NJCAA in ERA at 0.93 and has struck out 89 batters.

After being selected as the KJCCC 'Pitcher of the Week' for the second consecutive week (third time this season), Redman finally cracked into the National stage this week. After last week's games, Redman had an ERA of .93 which had her 3rd in the NJCAA in that category.

Teammate Shayna Espy is the other Grizzly who received national recognition earlier in the season as she was named NJCAA 'Player of the Week' the last week of March.
