The Grizzlies continued their hot start to the conference season with a two game sweep of the Colby Trojans at East Park on Saturday, winning the first game 9-1 before completing the sweep with a 9-4 victory in game two.

JaKeyla McDaniel had a big day in game one, finishing the game with three RBIs and two hits. Five different Grizzly batters drove in runs, as the Grizzlies took the lead with a two run first inning and never looked back en route to the run rule victory.

Allyson Montgomery improved to 7-1 on the year with her victory in the circle in game one, pitching four innings and allowing just one run, striking out five batters.

The Grizzlies showed off their power in game two, as three players hit homers in the victory. Ryanna Valdivia gave the Grizzlies the lead with a two run shot to right field in a first inning that saw Butler take control of the game with five runs. Cady Dickey put the game to bed in the sixth, with a three run blast to left, her third of the year. And Reece Briggs cemented the victory an inning later with a solo shot to right field. The trio all recorded multiple RBIs and Amayiah Hall also drove in two runs. The Grizzlies also stole a total of four bases.

Emma Koeneke earned the victory, her fifth. She struck out eight batters in five innings of work, allowing only three earned runs.

Butler improves to 13-5, stay unbeaten at home this season, and have now won five straight, improving to 7-1 in conference play. The Grizzlies head to Neosho, Missouri for a rematch with Crowder College on Monday, a little more than a week after Butler swept the Roughriders in El Dorado last Sunday.
