The Butler Grizzlies took a conference roadtrip to Goodland, Kansas on Wednesday and rolled over the Northwest Tech Mavericks in two games on Wednesday. Butler took the first game 24-0 before rounding out the dominant day with a 20-2 victory.

The Grizzlies started the game with a solo home run from Ryanna Valdivia, and then scored nine runs in the second and nine runs in the third in game one. Valdivia earned her second home run in the third, a blast to center field. The inning also featured a Briona Woods two run homer to left field and RBI singles from Amayiah Hall and Jakeyla McDaniel. Hall and Kendyl Anderson had three RBIs in game one, and a total of eight batters drove in runs. Ten different batters found hits, led by Hall who was 5-5 on the day.

Allyson Montgomery won her ninth game of the season, with her third consecutive complete game. She earned the shutout and allowed just one hit with 10 strikeouts in five innings of work.

The second game was no different, with the Grizzlies putting any doubts away early with a six run first inning followed by seven in the second. The Grizzlies totaled 20 runs in game two on 22 hits. Kendyl Anderson starred in this one, with three hits in four at bats and four runs batted in, while Reese Briggs and Amayiah Hall batted in three of their own.

Lena Walter earned her second victory of the year, pitching a complete game in five innings, giving up two runs and striking out four batters.

The Grizzlies extend their winning streak to four games and improve their record to 19-7 and 10-2 in conference play. Butler is still yet to lose a single game in program history against Northwest Tech and jump to 9-4 in road games this season. They'll hope to complete the week undefeated as they return to East Park for a home doubleheader against Garden City on Saturday.
