Ryanna Valdivia earns Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week Honors

After a big week at the plate against conference rival and #15 ranked Hutchinson Ryanna Valdivia has been named the Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week.

Ryanna Valdivia, Butler Softball's sophomore third baseman from Omaha, NE had another great week for the Grizzlies in their four games of conference action. Butler softball began the week with a home double header with Dodge City in which Valdivia had an outstanding three home runs on the day, totaling six RBIs, and had a 1.000 hitting percentage in game two after a 0.667 average in game one. In the home series with #15 Hutchinson Ryanna was one for two in game one with one RBI for a 0.500 average and hit a double in the game two 9-1 run-rule victory. Valdivia had 7 RBIs on the week with a 0.545 average (6/11). In the field, she had six put outs with three assists. Ryanna is leading the conference in homeruns this season with eleven and currently sits at third in RBI's just four behind the first-place spot. 

Valdivia is the second Grizzly to earn player of the week honors and is joined this week by her teammate Allyson Montgomery who earns pitcher of the week title.
