Butler Softball Picks Up Two Wins on the Road over Dodge City

The Grizzlies traveled to Dodge City on Saturday and took down the Conquistadors 9-1 in game one and 5-1 in game two to claim the season sweep.

Game One

Butler's Allyson Montgomery pitched a great game, allowing only one run in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Grizzlies offense continued to produce, with Kendyl Anderson hitting a two-run homer in the fourth and Reece Briggs hitting a solo shot in the sixth to help Butler pull away.

In the end, the Grizzlies' strong pitching and timely hitting were too much for Dodge City to overcome. Montgomery earned the win, improving her record to an impressive 19-3, while Anderson led the way at the plate with two homers and a double for three hits and three RBIs.

Game Two

Emma Koeneke, the Grizzlies' starting pitcher, was dominant throughout the game, allowing only one run on four hits while striking out six batters. She claims the win for game two improving her record to 12-5.

Offensively, Butler was led by Madi Divis, who went 3-for-4 with a double, and JaKeyla McDaniel, who had two hits and scored a run. The team showed great patience at the plate, drawing seven walks in the game.
