  • Allyson Montgomery got the win. She pitched six innings, allowing just one run on two hits, while striking out 12 batters
  • Emma Koeneke earned a save in the game. She pitched a terrific seventh inning, giving up just one hit while striking out two
  • Cady Dickey hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first to open the scoring
  • JaKeyla McDaniel recorded the other RBI with a bunt single that scored Amayiah Hall from third
  • The Grizzlies are now 6-5 in opening round games at the national tournament since 2011

  • Starting pitcher Allyson Montgomery is the all-time strikeout leader in the history of the Butler Softball program. She now has 410 strikeouts in her Grizzly career, breaking the record of 374 set by Lauren Supak this during the Region VI Tournament against Colby
  • Her 258 strikeouts this season are the second most by a Grizzly pitcher in a single year. She now only trails the great Maggie Ham's masterful 2012 season where Ham struck out 288 batters
  • In 33 appearances this season, Montgomery has a record of 25-3, 162.1 innings pitched, an ERA of 1.98, and a K/7 of 11.13
    • Across her last eight starts, Montgomery has a record of 6-0, pitched 34.1 innings, has an ERA of 1.03, and has struck out 65 batters
  • Montgomery is t-7th in the nation in wins with 25, her 258 strikeouts is 4th in the country this year, and her K/7 of 11.13 is 6th
