Handsaker Honored as KJCCC Co-Pitcher of the Week

Butler softball sophomore pitcher Cheyenne Handsaker was tabbed as the KJCCC Co-Pitcher of the Week the league announced on Tuesday.

The honor is Handsaker's fifth weekly award from the conference as she has paced the Grizzly pitching attack all season, holding a 1.78 ERA in 114.0 innings pitched.

Handsaker, a Pearl City, IL., native shares the honor with Hutchinson's Dakota Lake. The two pitched against each other over the week as Butler took two games from the Blue Dragons on the road.

She threw 11.0 innings in two starts helping the Grizzlies grab two wins while she allowed no earned runs. She struck out 12 while walking two, allowing three hits on the week. In a 2-1 win at Hutch, Handsaker threw 6.0 innings earning the win as she allowed one unearned run on two hits, striking out eight and walking one.
