Tamara Nard picks up KJCCC Women’s ‘Player of the Week’ honors

For the second time this basketball season, a Butler women's basketball player has earned the prestigious honor of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women's Division I 'Player of the Week'. Tamara Nard becomes the second Grizzly to pick up this award this season joining RaVon Nero (Week 4) in this elite class of women's basketball players across the KJCCC.

Nard, the freshman forward/center from Chicago, IL, was a consistent force for the Grizzlies offense during last week's thee game stretch. She scored in double figures all three games shooting 47% from the floor and averaging 15.3ppg with a high of 18 points Saturday on the road at Independence. Nard dished out four assists during the stretch and recorded two steals.

Nard was also a threat on the defensive side of the ball recording just shy of two blocks a game making her presence known inside the block. The 6-2 forward/center averaged 6 rebounds per game last week on top of her 15.3 points per game during the week.

She has helped Butler to a top spot in the KJCCC East averaging 15.1 points per game and six rebounds per game during the season.
