Nard selected as KJCCC Division I ‘Player of the Week’

 For the second time this season, freshman forward Tamara Nard has been selected as the Kansas Jayhawk Community College 'Player of the Week'.

This is honor comes off a week where Nard posted a career high 33 points in a game and averaged 27 points on the week.

Tamara Nard, the freshman forward/center from Chicago, IL, dominated the post this past week in both games as she averaged 27 points per game. Nard shot 56% from the floor on the week, just below her season average of 57% on the season, which is 3rd in the KJCCC this year.

Nard is also tied for 4th in the KJCCC Division I in points per game at 15.7. Nard's 33-point performance on the road at Neosho las Wednesday was a career high for the freshman topping her previous game high of 28 points scored back in November. Nard also pulled down 6.5 rebounds per game in her 27.5 minutes played per game last week. 

"She is getting more comfortable and learning more and more every day," said head coach Mike Helmer. "She keeps improving and if she learns to always stay on the attack people will be in trouble."
