Furman scores career high 32 in dominant win over Pratt

The Grizzlies Women's Basketball Team were led by Mekayla Furman's 32 points as the Grizzlies stayed undefeated on the season with a dominating 88-44 win over the Pratt Beavers on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the Power Plant on Saturday.

Furman's performance was good enough for a career high, going 14-17 from the field and 2-2 from three point range in just 25 minutes. She also led the Grizzlies in rebounds with eight, just two shy of the double double.

Butler jumped out to a hot start and never looked back. The Grizzlies opened the game with a 10-0 run and ended the first quarter up 23-7, and it would be cruise control from there.

It was a decent shooting performance, ending the game at 48% from the field despite going just 5-20 from three point range. Butler was dominant inside, as they often are, finishing the game with 50 points in the paint. The Grizzlies passed the ball well, with 26 assists, led by Cameren Downs' six.

It was another dominant night on the boards, as the Grizzlies outrebounded the Beavers 44-22, and managed 20 second chance points. The Grizzlies defense was stout all day, holding Pratt to just 21% from three and forcing 27 turnovers. Two Grizzly players, Furman and Jalia Harding, finished with four steals, and Butler ended the day with 29 points off turnovers.

The win will improve the Grizzlies record to 9-0 on the year, and 4-0 in conference play. Butler picked up their fifth straight win at the Power Plant this season. They'll look to stay unbeaten when they face rival Coffeyville on Wednesday night at 5:30pm in El Dorado.
