Tiger and Janak pick up back to back KJCCC pitching honors

The last two weeks on the mound have been dominated by two Butler pitchers and they both were selected as Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference 'Pitchers of the Week' in back to back weeks.

Izack Tiger, freshman right-handed pitcher from Del City, OK, pitched a no-hitter on two weeks ago in the Grizzlies 10-0 (5-inning) win over Des Moines Area CC. Tiger had a perfect game going up until the top of the fifth inning when he walked his first batter of the game. Tiger threw 59 pitches in the win allowing no runs, off no hits, with a walk and four strikeouts. He faced 16 batters and 43 of his 59 pitches were strikes.

Tiger became the first Grizzly to pick up 'Pitcher of the Week' honors from the KJCCC this season.

This last week, sophomore left-handed pitcher Dillan Janak from Sioux Falls, SD, improved to 2-0 on the season after allowing just one hit last Thursday to Highland. Janak pitch six innings in the 10-0 victory giving up just one hit in his 21 batters faced. He walked two Scottie batters while striking out eight in the game.

Janak joined Tiger this week as the second Butler Baseball player to pick up KJCCC 'Pitcher of the Week' honors this season.

A season ago, Butler had three players pick up KJCCC 'Player of the Week' honors throughout the season. Two player of the week's and one pitcher.
