KJCCC ‘Player of the Week’ Rewind- Baseball

With no spring sports in action and no opportunities for Grizzlies to earn KJCCC 'Player of the Week' honors, we are going to look back at all of this year's honorees.

We have finally arrived at the spring season, one that only made it six weeks before being shut down dur to COVID-19. During the short spring season, two Grizzly baseball pitchers earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference 'Pitcher of the Week' honors in back to back weeks in weeks four and five.

Week 3: Izack Tiger

Izack Tiger, freshman right-handed pitcher from Del City, OK, pitched a no-hitter on Saturday in the Grizzlies 10-0 (5-inning) win over Des Moines Area CC. Tiger ha a perfect game going up until the top of the fifth when he walked his first batter. Tiger threw 59 pitches in the win allowing no runs, off no hits, with a walk and four strikeouts. He faced 16 batters and 43 of his 59 pitches were strikes. Tiger is now 1-1 on the season. 

Week 4: Dillan Janak

Dillan Janek

Dillan Janak, sophomore left-handed pitcher from Sioux Falls, SD, improved to 2-0 on the season after allowing just one hit Thursday to Highland. Janak pitch six innings in the 10-0 victory giving up just one hit in his 21 batters faced, two walks while striking out eight.
