Grizzlies Record First Losses of the Season

Butler Baseball traveled to Enid, OK to face Northern Oklahoma College-Enid and Crowder on Wednesday afternoon.

Game 1- Northern Oklahoma College- Enid

Despite tallying four homeruns, the Grizzlies were not victorious over NOC-Enid in the seven-inning 9-7 loss. Solo homeruns from both Alan Benhardt and Brock Kuehler in the seventh inning were not enough to bring Butler up from their 4-run deficit.

The seventh inning homer was not the only one for Benhardt, as he recorded the first homerun of the Butler Baseball season in the second inning. Justin Hudson also joined in with another homer in his second at-bat of the day in the third inning.

Dylan Rinker started on the mound. He was relieved by Austin Bagnall, who was solid for the Grizzlies going three and two-thirds innings only giving up one earned run, with one walk, and one strikeout. Caden Kickhaefer also saw time on the mound in relief.

Game 2- Crowder

Butler managed only four runs on seven hits in the 11-4 loss against Crowder. Hayden Dyer gave the Grizzlies their fifth homerun of the day in the fourth inning. Anibal Rivera had 2 RBI's

Starter Izack Tiger lasted three and one-third innings and gave up only three earned runs on seven hits with 3 strike outs. Following Tiger was Tate Rico, Blake Werry, and Denton Whiteside in relief.

The Grizzlies now have a 2-2 record for the season and will head back to Oklahoma this Friday to face Rose State College at 10 a.m. and Eastern Oklahoma State College at 12:30 p.m. in Edmond at the University of Central Oklahoma.
