The Grizzlies Sweep Highland on the Road

The Butler Grizzlies earned a midweek sweep on a Wednesday, traveling to Highland and winning both of the doubleheader games against the Scotties, taking game one 8-6 before a 14-4 victory in game two.

The Grizzlies scored one in the first inning of game one but fell behind after a three run home run. Butler tied the game with a three run fourth, with runs coming off a bases loaded hit batter and a walk, before taking the lead in the fifth with a two run single from Micah Kobuszewski.

The bats came out again in game two, as the Grizzlies jumped out to a two run lead in the second inning off a Brock Toothaker home run and never looked back. Butler sealed the victory with a six run seventh inning, powered by a Josh Holmes grand slam.

The Grizzlies have now won four straight games, and their record improves to 12-9. The Grizzlies return home on Friday for the home portion of the series against Highland on Friday.
