Grizzlies Drop a Pair in Hutchinson

Butler Baseball traveled to Hutchinson on Saturday to take on the conference rival Blue Dragons and fell 9-5 by walk-off grand slam in game one and fell 10-6 in game two.

Game One

The Grizzlies dropped game one of the day, the third game of the series with Hutch in heartbreaking fashion as they held a two run lead going into the final inning but could not fend off the Blue Dragon walk-off victory.

Innings two, three, and four were scoreless but the Grizzlies broke away in the fifth as Brock Lummus scored on a Blue Dragon error and a sacrifice fly by Hayden Dyer scored Anibal Rivera, tying things up. A Justin Hudson double drove in Josh Holmes to give the Grizzlies the lead. Butler then added two more runs in the top of the sixth as Rivera drove in Brock Toothaker and Dyer scored Lummus. Hutch rallied back scoring one run in the bottom of the fifth, but Butler maintained the lead heading into the final inning. The Blue Dragons tied things up in the bottom of the seventh before claiming the win on a walk-off grand slam that ended the game 9-5.

Game Two
