Grizzlies Fall at Neosho in Mid-Week Matchup

Despite starting the game off hot with a grand-slam and tallying three other homeruns to go along with that, Butler baseball falls to Neosho on the road 17-10

The Grizzlies kicked things off by scoring on a bases loaded walk in the top of the first inning with no outs. After a Panther pitching change Brock Lummus cleared the bases with a grand slam putting the Grizzlies up 5-0.

Josh Holmes sent one over the fence in the top of second inning before the Panthers rallied back scoring two runs in the bottom of the second, then tying the game up at 6-6 in the bottom of the third. Butler answered the call in the top of the fourth with back-to-back homeruns, the first from Garrett Fager and the other from Holmes, his second of the game. Butler scored two more in the sixth as Hayden Dyer drove in Anibal Rivera and Garret Fager came home on a wild pitch.

It was unfortunately all Panthers from there as Neosho scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth and claimed a lead they would never relinquish.

Butler Baseball moves to 19-14 on the season remaining 6-6 in conference. The Grizzlies are back on the road Thursday to take on conference opponent Garden City at 1 & 3 p.m.
