Urista-Chico scores four goals as Butler beats Northwest Tech

The Butler soccer still has yet to allow a goal at home this season after recording an 8-0 win over Northwest Kansas Tech on Sunday night at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.

While the defense was running its home scoreless streak to 700 minutes, Rosa Urista-Chico was pumping in four goals, her career-best for goals in a game. It is the fifth hat trick of her career with three goals apiece in games against Rose State, Neosho and Garden City, as well as last year against Hesston.

Butler got its first goal of the game in the 25th minute from Pearl Imperial on a long ball from the right side that got over the head of the Northwest Tech keeper.

With three minutes left in the first half, Urista-Chico scored her first goal and Butler took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Two minutes into the second half, Urista-Chico was fouled inside the 18-yard box. She slotted the ensuing penalty kick past the keeper for her second goal, giving Butler a 3-0 lead.

Urista-Chico's third goal came four minutes later, as she launched a shot from 30 yards out that got over the keeper's head and gave Butler a 4-0 lead in the 51st minute.

Colleen Howland would score Butler's next goal on an assist from Lexi Clark in the 57th minute before Urista-Chico got her fourth and final goal in the 66th minute to make it a 6-0 game.

Butler's final two goals came on a header by Jaclyn Means in the 69th minute and a goal by Lauren Allan with an assist by Dalia Fernandez in the 75th minte.

In goal, Jami Reichenberger tallied her 12th shutout of the season. That puts her into a three-way tie for third all-time for shutouts in a season alongside Ashley Harrel (2004) and Kelsi Langley (2013).

Butler (14-2-0 overall, 9-0-0 conference) returns to conference play this Friday with a 2 p.m. home match against Kansas City Kansas Community College.
