Godwin named National Player of the Week

For the second week in a row, a Butler soccer player has picked up the prestigious honor of NJCAA National Player of the Week.

Last week, goalkeeper Kyrah Klumpp was awarded the honor, this week it is freshman forward Kenzee Godwin.

After a perfect week winning both of their games, Kenzee Godwin has been recognized on the highest level earning NJCAA Div. I Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Godwin, a 5-3 freshman from McPherson, KS, found her stride this past week as she recorded three goals and three assists in the Grizzlies' two victories. Godwin scored a goal and added two assists in Butler's 10-0 on the road at Neosho. Godwin followed that up with two goals and an assist in an 8-0 victory over Dodge City on Saturday. 

Godwin had the game winning goal in the 12th minute against the Conquistadors. Godwin's season totals are now three goals and four assists for ten points, good for fourth on the team. 

Godwin and the Grizzlies have outscored their opponents 27-0 over the last four games, winning all four. They face the Red Raven of Coffeyville on Wednesday, September 22 at 6:00pm at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
