Grizzlies fall to No. 3 Seminole in Overtime thriller

The Butler Grizzlies lost another heartbreaker at home on Friday, losing an overtime thriller to Seminole State, ranked third in the nation, as the Trojans pulled out a 3-2 victory at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.

Butler drops to 4-2 on the year, and 0-2 at home. With this game, the Grizzlies have now played five of their six games against NJCAA Top-15 ranked opponents.

After a scoreless first half, Kenzee Godwin broke the deadlock with a goal 14 minutes into the second half, scoring her seventh goal of the season off an assist by Brooklyn Hunter. Seminole scored the next two goals and looked to win the game in regulation until Godwin earned a late equalizer, leveling the contest in the 80th minute with her second goal of the game to force overtime.
Seminole found the winner five minutes into the extra frame, scoring in the 95th minute to seal the victory.

The Grizzlies will look to bounce back with another game this weekend, as they host yet another ranked opponent, as Laramie County (WY) will be the next team to play at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex Sunday at 11:00am.
