Grizzlies fall 3-1 on the road to the Cougars

The Butler Grizzlies two-game KJCCC win streak was snapped Monday night in Great Bend as they fell 3-1 to the Barton Cougars.

After taking the first set of the night 25-20, the Butler Volleyball team (9-6, 4-4) lost the next three 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17.

The Grizzlies tried to stretch the match into five sets as they put together an early run in the fourth set but couldn't hold the lead. Butler led 13-10 at one point in the set, but the Cougars went on a 10-0 run which gave the Cougars a large enough cushion to close out the match 25-18 and finish the match in favor of the Cougars.

Jaryn Benning led Butler with a season high 19 kills with a .459 hitting % as well as 12 digs and two blocks. Freshman Carly Clennan added in 10 kills on her 16 attempts for a .625%. She also led the team with four blocks on the night. Sydney Morrow led the team in digs with 22 while Sydney Hefty dug up 17 on the night.
