Clennan picks up yet another National award this week; named AVCA Player of the Week

Adding to the lengthy list of weekly honors, Carly Clennan picks up yet another award, this time being recognized as the American Volleyball Coaches Association Two-Year College Women Player of the Week.

Clennan helped lead the Grizzlies to a 5-0 week with wins over three NJCAA ranked opponents. The biggest highlight of the week was the 3-2 upset victory over the defending NJCAA National Champions Iowa Western, serving the Reivers their first loss since early last season. In that game, Clennan hit .394 with 14 kills propelling Butler to their biggest win in recent program history.

The undefeated week helped slide the Grizzlies way up the rankings from No. 16 to the No. 7 position in this week's NJCAA Div. I National Poll. Butler has a tough task in front of them this weekend as they host No. 10 Seward, a team the Grizzlies have not defeated since the 2014 season. That game is slated for a 2:00pm start in the Power Plant in El Dorado.
