Kennedy Kelly named Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week

The nation's leader in hitting percentage Kennedy Kelly was named the Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week.

Kelly, sophomore middle blocker from Frisco, TX, continued her hot hitting streak as she was a strong and consistent piece of the puzzle for the Grizzlies in the 2-0 week with wins over Cloud County and Pratt. Kelly, who leads the nation in hitting percentage, upped her average this past week putting away 20 balls on just 30 attempts with one error. Kelly hit .672 on the week, .818 in Saturday's match that saw her go 9 for 11. Kelly also totaled six blocks on the week, good for a block per set and also had three serving aces. Kelly is hitting .397 on the season in her 21 matches played.

This is the first time this season Kelly has been named Player of the Week and the third time a Grizzly has won the honor.
