Butler Volleyball sweeps Pratt in home opener

EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball put together a solid performance in its home opener, taking down the Pratt Beavers in a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-13, 25-21) at the Power Plant on Saturday.

The Grizzlies (6-4, 1-1 KJCCC) picked up their first conference win of the season after falling at Cloud County earlier in the week. It was the first conference match of the season for Pratt (1-3, 0-1 KJCCC).

Freshman Sarah Sullivan (Henderson, NV) led Butler with 11 kills, the sixth out of Butler's 10 matches where she landed the most attacks for the Grizzlies.

Freshman Anja Milosevic (Belgrade, Serbia) added a team-high 22 assists and six service aces while freshman Laynee Brown (Topeka) paced Butler with eight digs.

Butler hit a match-high .333 in the second set as they controlled the set throughout, winning it 25-13.

The Grizzlies return to the Power Plant for two matches on Friday, Sept. 8, as Friends University (JV) and Cowley County visit. The first match is set for 11 a.m. CT and the second match, with Cowley, is at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ButlerGrizzlies.com/WatchLive or the BCTV+ app.
